HO Scale modeled in grey resin .The history of the hay mower began with early inventions like Jeremiah Bailey's horse-drawn machine in the 1820s and became commercially successful with William F. Ketchum's mower in the 1840s. These machines replaced the labor-intensive scythe, using a horse or ox-powered cutting bar to cut a wider swath of hay much faster. Innovations continued with the introduction of the self-propelled tractor-drawn mower, the side-delivery rake, and the hay mower-conditioner which uses rollers to speed up drying time.
