HO Scale Modeled in Grey Resin UD Tower in Joliet, Illinois, has a rich history tied to the city's railway operations. Originally built in 1913, it controlled the signals and switches for the crossing of the former Rock Island and Santa Fe railroads, as well as the Joliet Union Station. The tower's operations were eventually automated with the construction of the Joliet Gateway Center, and the control functions were transferred to Union Pacific in Omaha and BNSF in Fort Worth. The tower itself has been preserved and is opened as a museum, showcasing the history of Joliet's railroads.
